Client: FashionPlaytes

Challenge:

A fashion-tech startup let customers design and manufacture their own clothes. Despite high site traffic, sales weren’t growing. Customers spent time browsing but weren’t buying—the price point was high, and there wasn’t enough emotional investment to convert them into purchasers.

What We Did:

Instead of tweaking the website, we redesigned how customers interacted with the brand. We launched a digital engagement platform where shoppers could:

  • Vote on upcoming styles before they were produced
  • Submit their own designs and compete in contests
  • Participate in style challenges to feel like co-creators

We prototyped the platform separately, without waiting on IT, to test engagement quickly. The platform got immediate traction, and from there, we evolved the prototype and collaborated with the IT team to make it part of the brand.

The Results:

  • 1 million registered users—shoppers loved the experience.
  • 500% growth in sales—customers were more invested, so they converted.
  • Company pivoted—this strategy reshaped the business and its future.
